The Guardian of Shadows is the fourth installment of The Revenant Wyrd Saga. In this portion , we find Joya, Jovian, and Angelica travelling through the Realm of Shadows, still searching for their sister Amber and heading homeward. As they meander their way across, they are attacked by Hecklin beasts trying to prevent them from getting to the Haunted Graveyard. Once there, they realize they have no where out unless they can find the secret passageway located in the Guardian Mausoleum. Will they find their way out? What is waiting for them on the other side if/when they find the way? Will they find their sister Amber, and will she be forever changed?

Grace, Rosalee,and Dalah have reached the realization that their bodies have been possessed by the Norms. They must find a way to rid themselves of the Norns and find their way back to the children to help find Amber. Will they find a way to destroy the powerful Norns, or will they get themselves killed in the process?

We revisit Cianna and the group from the academy she met on the road. They are assuming that Clara is still alive among the Kelpies because Cianna cannot sense her spirit. Is Clara still alive? Will they be able to save her before the Kelpies feast on her body? Will she finally make it to the Necromancer's mosque? What of the dreams that have been haunting her?

I could not wait for this book to arrive so that I could continue reading about my favorite group of people and their individual quests. Once again, Travis Simmons does a wonderful job drawing me into the story immediately. There's lots of action and magic to keep you engaged, and at the edge of your seat. I love the fact that we get to meet new creatures in each book, some very unusual ones at that. Finally everything comes together as we prepare for book five and the battle coming within it. This is a wonderfully written series that has captured my imagination in a way so few novels have. I am now a huge fan of this author and will definitely sample his other writings. ( )

I'm sorry I can't give more than five stars. This is just one of those series that will remain with me as a favorite. Each book gets better. We are getting a clearer picture of everything at just the right pace so we don't get overwhelmed or confused. So clearly written and precisely described. And I would so live in the shadow realm. What a fascinating place. I have two more books in the series and as much as I look forward to reading them, I am dreading the end of the last book. For with the turning of the last page so goes the realms and the characters I have come to care about. ( )

I have really enjoyed reading this series so far and was excited to read what happens next in Jovian, Joya and Angelica’s journey to save their sister Amber. I love these characters and have from the beginning of the series, their characters are always developing and I love the fantasy ad magic of the whole series. It just gets better and better. I just hope they find Amber soon now.
A Guardian of Shadows is another well written and fast pacing addition to The Revenant Wyrd Saga. ( )

Maybe it’s just my interest in the macabre, but I looked forward to this book based on the title because I was hoping it would shed a little light on what’s been going on in the Shadow Realm (pun totally intended). Getting to see its history and inhabitants was a treat and now I have the strangest urge to pet a hecklin, having developed a affection for them after descriptions of how they interact with certain residents of the Shadow Realm. This book definitely has a little more excitement than the last and some revelations about the destiny of the siblings, but there’s not much I can give you here that won’t be packed with spoilers. This one is definitely worth reading, with a much faster pace than the previous installment in the series. ( )

AMAZING! Poor Amber is still missing, but has been relegated to a back story. Cianna jumps to the forefront as we follow her and her ragtag group through the fire realm. Can they stop the advance of the dark power that is threatening their entire world?

Simmons newest addition to the series is the perfect continuation of an already fantastic fantasy storyline. Angelica and Jovian learn to use their wyrd and come to the knowledge that they are "The Wyr" that the Norns are afraid of. Can they stop the onslaught of destruction without their missing sister? Can they save Grace and her friends from the possession of the Norns? You know you want to find out, so grab a copy and dig in. ( )
