Someone so perfect could never be hers, surely? But a dark shadow has fallen across the Savant community. A serial killer is stalking young people who have these special mental powers. Soon one of them will be taken to the edge of death . . . and beyond.A stunning new novel from the best-selling author of Finding Sky, Stealing Phoenix, and Seeking Crystal.. That said, it makes me only slightly uncomfortable that the Benedicts and all their girlfriends and everybody and their grandmothers are much like my Sims: a squad of perfect people to the point it's unrealistic. Savants aren't like Meyer's vampires- inherently attractive. You didn't need to make them all supermodels, c'mon.
Despite all this, I enjoyed it and I chugged it down. I had a two month ñs slump in which I read no published literature whatsoever (which doesn't mean I didn't read at all, but you know -can't count fanfiction for a reading challenge, unfortunately) and this one managed to get me out of it. Its light and funny and it only bothers you for short periods of time. The savant verse is super fun, and whereas this is not a life changer, it's definitely not a waste of time, either. ( )
