"Returning home to her Wiccan roots wasn't quite what nineteen-year-old Chloe Bishop had in mind for summer break. But when fate makes other plans, Chloe is forced to face her unwanted magical abilities--the destiny she never knew existed--and the handsome stranger who is somehow tethered to both."-- Publisher's description. What a great read. The book opens up with the main character, Chloe, getting a phone call that her grandfather, Pap, has a brain tumor. She flies back home. A bit later in the book, you find out that her family is a family of witches. Her family is also a family of twins. Each person has a different ability, ranging from telepathy to teleporting. Chloe is a seer.
While visiting Pap in the hospital, she meets Hunter, and is instantly attracted to him. Hunter becomes a part of the family, and he and Chloe grow closer, until one of her visions show something that Hunter has failed to mention.
The family comes together and save Pap's life, Chloe's new found ability plays a large part.
There's a huge twenty year old secret that is revealed, and it changes EVERYTHING. Chloe and her family are at odds on how to proceed with this knowledge when Chloe has another vision, this one having a potentially deadly outcome.
Fast forward to the end, and Chloe is presented with another vision, in which Hunter is shot and lay dying. The book ends here. What a cliffhanger!
One of the main things I liked about the book was that the witches weren't portrayed in the stereotypical way. No pointy hats, no cackling. There is a spell or two, however. I cannot wait to read the next books in the series.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I reviewed this for Kyle's Fiction Addiction. ( )
