Written by two writers who were personal friends of Clarice Lispector, this book comprises three parts: "Com Clarice," in which Affonso R. de Sant'Anna and his wife Marina Colasanti reminisce about the times they enjoyed with Clarice, commenting on her tastes, pleasures and displeasures, her impatience when surrounded by many people, and so on. The other two parts "De Marina para Clarice" and "De Affonso para Clarice" are reprints of several articles and essays penned by the couple at different times. An appendix to the book comprises a transcript of an interview held at the Museu de Imagem e Som, in Rio de Janeiro, on October 20, 1976, conducted by Sant'Anna and Colasanti with Joa o Salgueiro, then the director of the museum. In the interview, an informal, jovial, and good humored Lispector replied to all the interviewers' questions, resulting in a revealing profile of one of Brazil's major writers and one of the best known abroad, due to the translations of her books (for which, she confessed in the interview, she had received no payment by then...).
