The March family is just as it was in the classic tale, a loving family full of happiness though they are going through a rough time monetarily in NEw England during the Civil war era. The story takes you through the lives of the young girls until they reach their adulthood and eventually marry. The four daughters want to buy themselves Christmas presents, but they decide to buy their mother gifts instead. On Christmas morning, the girls receive books, and their mother encourages them to take their poverty in stride, and to stop complaining that they have nothing. These girls go on to have many adventures. One is caught doing something bad in school, and that leads to her being taken out of school. This in turn leads to the girls not being allowed to go to the theater with their friends, and manuscripts end up being burned. The novel ends 2 years later, with the girls being married, and the family being happy. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
