As a woman in a mans world, the heroine fights daily and with great pride to prove to everyone she's a capable warrior. But no one will listen, no one will believe her or allow her to show them until the hero. As a descendant of Thor and one of the Gods chosen warriors, he can see the heroine abilities and skills but still he wants her nowhere near danger. Not because he doesn't believe in her, but rather he just wants her safe. He fears for her every time she stubbornly puts herself in a dangerous situation and it's damaging his calm. With her, though he's a cool character with a level head and sharp intelligence and God like abilities, he finds himself easily riled. She's the perfect woman for him in every way but she drives him absolutely crazy. But when he's wounded by the sword they both seek and it infected with the poison within, she saves him. She kills his attacker and vows to get him to a healer who can help him. She does this because though she talks a big game and puts on the face that he means nothing, in truth he means everything. With him she can imagine marriage and children, something she's never thought of before. But even though the hero loves her with everything inside him he knows their future is impossible. He's a chosen warrior, a wander. He can't imagine the heroine a wife, staying at home waiting for him to return. So they do their dance, convincing themselves and each other that they don't care as much as they do. They were very much alike in their stubbornness. But the heroine certainly takes the cake. Normally I detest her character type- stubborn, demanding and reckless, putting everyone else in danger just so she can be a part of action. And though the heroine was stupid and reckless, I forgave her up to a point as she really is the chosen one to use the sword to kill the demon. And she's capable enough in battle. But her attitude grated on me. The hero was a lovely lead male but unfortunatly neither he nor his female counterpart had much of a personality. Nothing was delved into past the surface layer. No deeper darker emotions or fear or anything. It was a very one note story with very one note characters. But, I liked it well enough. Just don't read this expecting anything mind blowing or even special because it wasn't. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
In the third page-turning novel in the captivating Warriors series, a fiery lass bent on revenge meets her match in a powerful Norse warrior. Descendant of the ancient Pictish royal line, Bridget MacCulloch fears nothing, so when brash Halldor O'Donar rebuffs her offer to help defeat the foe that killed her father, she refuses to surrender her quest. But Bridget's need for vengeance is equaled only by her growing attraction to Halldor. Descendant of the Norse god Thor, Halldor must find the missing Sword of the Ancients, for only with this weapon can he overcome the loathsome monster that has entered the Mortal world determined to destroy it. Though he's forbidden Bridget from accompanying him on his mission, he soon discovers the stubborn--yet sinfully irresistible--warrior princess heeds no one but herself. Now they must learn to trust each other if they're to defeat their enemies . . . or risk everything as they surrender to a desire with the power to conquer all.
