I get the impression that it's a very slightly lengthened magazine article. Part of my disdain is probably that I read Stretch, by Neal Pollack, and that does a much, much better job at covering the same territory, so this seems like a very pale imitation. The only remotely useful part of the book was the list of yoga blogs, and you can get that by googling "yoga blogs." sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Like many people Carla McKay thought that yoga sounded a bit too good to be true for a celebrity fad. Things changed, however, when a friend persuaded her to give it try for a laugh after she separated from her husband. She did laugh - throughout. But the practice was also different from what she had expected. In The Reluctant Yogi she describes how her disbelief was slowly defeated, and asks experts what yoga does for her. She discovers that yoga has something for everyone of every shape and size, young to old - it will tone your body, calm your mind, make you sleep better, strengthen your bones, boost your immune system and even make you lose weight. Learning her asanas from her pranayama, her downward dog from her downward frog, Carla finds along the way how you, too, can make yoga change your life. And, what happened to her marriage you'll have to find out... No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

This was a nice quick read for those times when I was queing for events during the festival and needed something to dip in and out of.
The author has done her research and delivers the facts in a light and easily digestible manner. I was always a fan of yoga, so didn't need to be converted, the information in this book just re-inforced what I already thought. Yoga is good for you, there are many different styles to choose from and some will suit more than others. There is no need to go the whole way and get involved in the religous side of yoga or change your eating habits - unless you want to.
NB this book doesn't tell you how to do yoga, it is just a background. ( )
