Las historias de un viejo grupo de amigos de entrelazan entre sí y, a medida que avanzan, el lector puede ir uniendo las piezas del puzzle. Me ha encantado la forma que tiene de representar la amistad, en lo bueno y en lo malo, de dar voz a todo tipo de errores que cometemos a lo largo de la vida, de poner sobre el papel cosas tan cotidianas como reales. Al mismo tiempo, la vuelta a los orígenes y al lugar donde somos nosotros, donde nos sentimos seguros, es la metáfora perfecta de una vuelta a casa. Simple pero contundente, te deja reflexionando sobre viejos tiempos y sobre tus propias vivencias. Lo he disfrutado muchísimo. ( )
La novela del 2014, según muchas listas. Me produce reacciones encontradas. Es plana, los buenos son muy buenos, los pueblos son la felicidad, la ciudad la maldad, todos somos amigos y lo seguimos siendo, for ever. Pero.... la he devorado!! Leída en tres días laborables. Nostalgia, tristeza, envidia....todo eso he sentido. Tal vez porque yo también estoy atrapada en el pasado. ( )
Henry, Lee, Kip y Ronny crecieron juntos en el mismo pueblo de Wisconsin, Little Wing. Amigos desde niños, sus vidas comenzaron de manera similar pero han tomado caminos distintos. Henry se quedó en el pueblo y se casó con su primera novia, mientras que el resto se marchó en busca de algo más: Ronny se convirtió en un vaquero de rodeo, Kip en exitoso agente de bolsa y Lee en una estrella de rock de fama mundial.
