What does God say in the Bible that He did when He created the heavens and the earth? It was the author's first year teaching biology and Genesis in a Christian high school. He realized he did not know how to reconcile the two. He knew the gap theory, but a first creation of life, then its destruction is not in the Bible. Then he heard young earth creationist Henry Morris lecture on creation and the flood. His insightful theory was almost right, but one key claim did not match the Bible. Later, he heard astrophysicist Hugh Ross lecture on old earth creationism. But one of his claims did not match the Hebrew of Genesis 1 that he was studying under John Sailhamer, the originator of the historical land creationism theory. And one of Sailhamer's claims did not fit the Bible well either. He decided to study in Hebrew and Greek the over one hundred Bible creation texts. A two-stage creation began to emerge.
