It could be used to start conversations about family dynamics. This book is about a girl who wants to be a jingle dress dancer, but she has to find jingles for her dress. She ends up asking different women in her family to borrow their jingles so that she can dance. This story is for all ages, I think fourth grade would be great because it has great cultural influence in the story and fourth graders would be able to truly understand it. This story follows a young Native American girl as she embraces her culture and wants to dance like her Grandma with jingles. This books is great for showing this particular culture and giving a bit of background and insight into Native American dancing. In a class this could be used to introduce some different cultures and it could go along with a history lesson including Native Americans. This story follows a young girl who wants to participate in ceremonial dancing (Jingle Dance). In the classroom I might share this around the holidays or in the spring asking students if they have special traditions or celebrations they participate with their family. I could also assign a research history project on a special culture practice (for older kids). I would recommend this book for 3rd to 5th graders. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
