Prelim Review: Dear Candace, I have one simple wish--please make a book about Linc and please find some way to have Kris Holden-Reid model as him for said book somehow someway in the promo material because Linc owned my heart. Love, Me. This is one of the more fun paranormal romances I've read in a while. The world building is a bit iffy and seemed more arbitrary then firmly set (the Council for one seemed to have some weird laws--if the Council leader had to be married after 200 years in office, because it promoted 'stability', what's to stop a crazy megalomaniac from marrying to engender trust and then abuse his authority?) and it got annoying how often either Casey or Nick would mention how insecure Casey was. The good news is that the humor and interesting characters made up for that. As mentioned above I love Linc, and hope there's a story for him. There wasn't a whole lot her Aunt Teddie, but when she did pop up she was pretty fabulous. The easy humor between Nick and Casey was adorable, and to be truthful I totally understood where Casey was coming from. Nick was a tease, even without meaning to. Full review to be posted at Poisoned Rationality Rubenesque paranormal romance is a fave, but this dragged for a bit and the angst dried up a little too quickly for my tastes. The world-building was a little spotty with the h being in the dark for the majority of the book, and the sexual tension led to a pretty abrupt sex scene. Still, there seems to be hints at a series, and I liked it enough to give it another go. Pertenece a las series
Vampire Nick Christos might've been born in the Middle Ages, but the good old days seem tame compared to the last eight years he's spent ruling the Supernatural Council. His only respite is with his cute neighbor Casey Meyers, a woman he wants more than any undead man should. Sure, he's forced to take a cold shower after every encounter, but there's no way he'll test his own strength by getting too close to a human, and he's not willing to risk her life-not with bloodthirsty family on the prowl out to ruin Nick's life. When said Nick's kin shows up, the innocent Casey is caught in the middle of a centuries old fight, and Nick's biggest fear is realized. Now, instead of keeping his hands off his neighbor, he'll risk everything to save the human he's come to love. Contains mature themes. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

The two did seem to have real trouble communicating, but I liked the way that Casey addressed that problem.
Candace Havens is great at characters, and great characters mean a great story. This book doesn't disappoint. ( )
