This was a touching story of finding God even when you feel undeserving, overcoming your past, and facing your demons. Honey faced a horrible childhood and eventually ran away from home. Now 17 years later, accompanying her neighbor, Ms. Sadie, she’s returning home to assist her in finding her missing niece and so that Honey can get a break from the memories of her husband and the incident that caused him to leave her. Little does she know she will learn quite a bit about herself and the God she has been trying to avoid. Her story was so realistic; I felt a strong connection to the main characters. I loved how God was described, so loving and ready to forgive if you just ask and give him all your troubles. This is definitely an excellent book, one that will stay on my mind for a very long time. ( ) Running Away Like Honey Lamb, each and every one of us has baggage. Hurt, betrayal, violence and abuse. To look at Honey you do not see a troubled young woman who is weighted down by her baggage. She tries to run away from her past, but the harder and longer she runs, she finds that there is nowhere to hide. Honey has a wonderful husband, Mason, whom she loves dearly. Sadly, her past is interrupting their future. Honey knows that she can’t hide. With encouragement, she has decided to give God a shot. The instant Honey steps into the church she feels better. Will Honey be able to release the demons of her past? "The Blood Done Signed My Name" by M. Ann Ricks is afflicting and engaging. Who hasn't wished, kept their distance, or prayed that they weren't related to certain people? While we cannot pick our family, we do need to learn to break generational curses in order to prevent harm from being carried over for generations. While you sympathize with Honey for all that she's endured, the story still is somewhat slow and you feel as if you're going in circles. Overall, however, it's a good read. Are the sins of the father and mother visited upon their sons and daughters? Undoubtedly damaged, Honey Lamb, like many, is a descendant of an unfortunate legacy of molestation, addiction, murder and bad decisions. For as long as she could remember, she believed the unhappiness she experienced was somehow bequeathed to her. The blood that surged through her veins seemed to be tainted and she often wondered about the DNA she possessed. Experiencing more than her share of misery and feeling unable to escape what she believed to be her destiny, Honey makes a decision that may have ruined her life. Not realizing God places people in our lives for His purpose, she reluctantly embarks upon a journey that will open her eyes and heart to a divine inheritance. Will she shun the invitation of salvation and allow her familial carnal legacy to continue to the next generation or will she come to understand that Jesus’ blood redeemed us from a self-defeating existence because He became the sinful inheritance for us while at the same time eradicating it forever, giving us a spiritual blood transfusion that would change us all? Either way she will never be the same No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
