This Urtext volume contains the twelve etudes by Debussy which were published in 1916 by the Paris publishers Durand & Cie. The sources for this edition are the first edition and the autograph score. The critical noted describe the variations between these two sources. These etudes serve as examples of Debussy's characteristic style of notation, including repeated accidentals for tied notes, small notes in brackets drawing attention to enharmonic changes, the mixture of Italian and French technical terms and other idiosyncrasies have been retained, although the tenth etude, which is frequently transcribed onto three staves, is here presented on two. Debussy's foreword from the original edition is included, in which he explains why fingerings have been omitted from these pieces. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
