Co-translated by Minnesota author Lewis Hyde.
Vincente Aleixandre has a primary place in the so-called "Generation of 1927," which includes Alberti, Salinas, Guillen and Lorca. Although the poet has never considered himself an orthodox surrealist, several critics have cited him as one of the most intense poets of surrealistic expression in the Spanish-speaking world. Aleixandre is also viewed as being one of the most important European writers of our time. World Alone was written between 1934 and 1936 but did not appear in print until 1950, when it was published in a limited edition in Madrid. In 1977 Vicente Aleixandre was the recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature. - Back cover. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
