When Ashley walks into a shop run by the vampire, Verloren, they both get the surprise of their lives. Ash is about to learn that she's not just another pretty young woman, while Verloren is astonished to find himself falling in love. But how can a vampire love a human? And what if the human isn't as human as she seems? When Ash's true nature reveals itself, the entire power structure of the world's outsiders teeters on the brink of destruction. Verloren and Ash become more and more terrified as they grope their way toward the ultimate truth: that they hold the key to something much larger than their own survival.… (más)

I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were interesting, the plot was unique. I picked up this book because I saw a give away for the second book in the series. It sounded interesting, so I decided I should read the first one first. I am happy that I read it, and have since purchased the second book for my kindle. I liked the 2 main characters Ashley and Verloren. I did find it a little strange that Ashley had no problems adjusting to her new diet of humans after she changed. I did like the relationship between the two of them. The thought of soul mates appeals to me. The fact that the supernatural beings are born as humans, and have to find out what they are as they mature made this book seem different from others in the genre. ( )

Endlessly is a story told by vampire Verloren. He introduces us to a world where vampires, werewolves, fairies, and any magical creature you can imagine are living among humans. The mythology behind this universe is a bizarre mixture of reincarnation and magical beliefs rather nicely ingrained.

Verloren is drawn to a young woman, Ash, that one day enters his shop in search for answers about the odd things she perceives about herself. From there, they fall in love and are set to fight the world for their love. I must say that the book is heavy in the romance department but, for me, it never felt too cumbersome (I am not a romance reader and this is rather important), even if it is a bit rushed it melts with the events going on around them seamlessly.

As I said, the book has a very interesting story going on on top of the romance, but it also has action, some surprises, and a good and satisfying ending.

It seems that nowadays it is needed to point out when a book about vampires or monsters in general is really about them and not about some magical/mysterious monster-guy falling in love with some girl. Well, here you have this vampire falling for Ash but everything is more than it seems and the monsters in this world are nasty. It is not a horror story but these people are hunters, they kill humans and they are not very picky about it. So good point.

Overall is a very fast and entertaining read. ( )

The story started out slow for me and is a little bit darker in some ways than a lot of the vampire/shifter books out there. It's a bit gory in places, but overall not that bad. I liked the love story and the ending. ( )

The first quality the reader will notice is the immediate action. The reader will meet Verloren right off the bat...along with the dreaded Quatre. Verloren is a vampire, but not the sparkly, cutesy kind. He is the goth with the long hair and pale skin with shockingly good looks. He has a beating heart, but no soul. The latter being his main concern in the novel, he is afraid to die (aren't we all?). He has better cause to fear death than the average human due to his non-existent soul. The Quatre are the supernatural creatures who rule the "non-human" world. They are feared, as one word from them can lead to one's immediate demise.

The next character, Ashley, is special and beautiful enough to inspire unusual feelings such as love and desire, in Verloren. The instant magnetism between Ashley and Verloren makes for a great romance in this novel. Their romance appears doomed, however, due to Ashley's very human state. She is the main drive in this book, the catalyst for all of the subsequent events.

This book was a surprisingly fast read. There is plenty of action and drama with just enough horror to keep the reader interested throughout the novel. The romance is perfectly played out while the horror part of the novel remains in the forefront; the main characters are truly and believably in love. The mystery aspect of the novel pulls the whole novel together into one cohesive plot. The reader will love the surprising twists that occur in the novel-especially concerning Ashley! This book is told in from the first-person perspective, Verloren's perspective, making it even better as the story flows seamlessly. Not enough books are told in the male vampire's point of view, this book will really stand out. The ending leads into a sequel which means the reader will get to enjoy another great book from this author!

This novel is higly recommended to paranormal, horror, and romance readers. ( )

I stumbled across this book whilst trawling through the dark fiction sections for something new to read, and I immediately thought "oh, yet another vampire book…", so I almost passed it by. I'm very glad I didn't. A quick read of the reviews made me give this one a go, mostly because they all seemed to point out that the vampire weren't "sparkly".

I don't usually read romance unless it has a plot (other than the central love story) that is more than a token to sell a bodice ripper and although this book was probably a little more "romance" than I usually can handle, the rest of the story made up for that tens time over.

This is no fluffy romance book and the author has no qualms about showing you the darker (and more interesting) side of vampires and werewolves and all manner of creatures. I've seen some low score reviews that complain about there being too many fantastical creatures all thrown into this story – absolute rubbish. Most of those other creatures are merely mentioned and inclusion of their existence adds more life and scope to the book's setting.

The plot centres on a few characters (that are very well developed) and their struggle to survive in a situation that gets more and more dangerous as each page is turned. The conclusion is awesome and the twists that you learn throughout the book are all "ahhh!" moments.

I loved it and I'm already waiting for the sequel. This book took me back to the days when I read Anne Rice's Vampire Lestat books and Brian Lumley's Necroscope series. I also think that Kelley Armstrong and Laurell K Hamilton Fans would love it. ( )
