A second rate villain gets a lucky break and defeats Superman because there happened to be some kryptonite lying around. Batman was able to call the Flash who came to the rescue, but Superman was annoyed by how vulnerable he is to kryptonite. He and Batman teamed up to find and destroy all the kryptonite on Earth, but it turned out there was a lot more than they thought there was! I would recommend this book to any fan of Batman and Superman. Just a couple teasers: there is a monster who is version of Doomsday combined with kryptonite, and just try to guess who came up with that one! Also, it's possible that Lana Lang could turn out to be a villain, but I'll leave you hanging so you read the book! One of the better of the recent Batman / Superman collaborations, in which Superman, after a near-death experience with Kryptonite, enlists Batman's help to rid the Earth of Green K, making it safe for him to do his work. The job actually turns out to be a bit more involved than either one suspected, and it's amazing how common a substance Green K had become by this point. The search culminates in a confrontation with Lana Lang, who now heads Lexcorp since Luthor was deposed - and you just know that he had the most extensive collection of Kryptonite on the planet. Lana proves to be a force to contend with herself, although there is a panel that suggests she is being manipulated by some other agent. This was an interesting book to compare with the recent retelling of Superman's first encounter with Kryptonite, in which he is heartened by the idea that he now, like all other beings on Earth, can be killed. It makes him more human, you see. Compare that now with the concept that, later in his career, he feels he would be best served by removing that vulnerability - although others, including some in our government, do not share that idea. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
