Always Faithful is a thoughtful, moving account of a man's struggle to understand war in the desert and his duties to his men, his marriage, and himself. The book is a literary memoir carved from the author's experiences as a U.S. Marine during the ground assault of the 1991 Gulf War. The author writes,” I don't remember whether I actually drew my pistol on an Afghan mercenary outside the phone booth in Khafgi. I remember breaking his nose by slamming the edge of the door into his face as he pressed his cheek against the outside of the glass. I remember reaching for my pistol, but I am not sure whether I actually pointed it at him." Chapters from the book were finalists in the Writer's Digest Personal Essay contest, the Lone Mountain Writer's Contest, and The Loft Literary Center's Creative Non-Fiction Contest.
