This story of friendship and love for one another is adorable! The essence of Christmas time is really captured throughout the entire book. Lamb, the main character of the story, gets inside of Santa's bag and meets lots of new toys and friends. Many of the toys are nervous or are having trouble being toys, but Lamb encourages them and helps them be better! The big idea of the story is that although Lamb did not know any of these toys prior, he still helped them and became friends with them! Children can learn from this because they can learn that although there may be children who are different than them, or although they meet someone for the first time, they can still be friends with them and be kind and help them! ( )

Summary:
A Christmas story about Lamb (toy) and his owner Louis. When Santa arrives at Louis' house Lamb climbs into Santa's toy bag. Lamb is impressed by all the different toys in there that he does not notice that Santa has picked up the bad and moved on to deliver toys to other houses. Lamb gets to interact with all the toys and tells them about his experiences as Louis' toy. Santa grabs one toy then another until Lamb is the only toy left in the bag. Lamb is afraid that Santa will give him to another child but Santa recognizes Lamb and knows he belongs to Louis and takes him back to him.

This is a very cute secular Christmas story on the happenings in Santa's bag. Lamb, who belongs to Louis, unexpectedly hitches a ride in Santa's bag. While traveling all over the world, he befriends the other toys and tries to help them make the transition to his world better! The dilemma is how will Lamb get back to Louis? I'd tell you...but really....you should read the book!

I really like this book. Lamb is a lovable character who all kids will fall in love with and maybe just pull out their beloved stuffed animal. I highly recommend this book to fill those cold winter nights while getting ready for Christmas. It would also make a cute Christmas Eve story while getting out the stockings.
