Jeff Foxworthy used eye grabbing illustrations, and humerous language to gain his readers attention. His ryhming was great, but not overdone. I would highly recommend this book to anyone reading to children as it will allow them to truly learn to love poetry. I give it 5 stars. Silly Street I liked the book, Silly Street, by Jeff Foxworthy. The big idea in this book is a selection of fourteen silly poems. I liked the humorous language that the author used. He comes up with ideas that are unnatural and fun to imagine. An example of this would be when he wrote about “crows blowing bubbles” or “a goat that tried to chew a yellow sports car.” I also enjoyed the colorful child-like illustrations that looked like they were created with watercolor paints. The pictures went well with the poems and were filled with bright colors and happy faces. Author Jeff Foxworthy Title Dirt on my shirt Illustrator Steve Borckman Publisher Harper Collins Date 2010 Pages 32 Summary: The poem I read out of this book was called Dirt on my shirt. This poem is about a boy that has dirt on hos shirt and leaves in his hair but he doesn't care. He loves to play outside and he likes to stomp and play in mud. Tags and subject headings would be carefree because this little boy just seems so carefree and just happy. My response: I liked this poem although it was kind of a shorter poem I liked reading it because I think all kids when they are that certain age they don't care about anything in the world and all they want to do is be carefree and have fun outside. I know many kids that are like this. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
